RAVE AWARD
The RAVE Award (Recognizing Actions, Values and Ethic) is an award presented quarterly to one Kicking Horse Coffee line employee that, through leading by example, best demonstrates a work ethic and behaviours consistent with Kicking Horse Coffee core values.

Starting her KHC life on the line in Packaging, Cattie quickly moved in to Deliveries, Barista-ing in the Café and is currently acting as Switchboard Operator Extraordinaire. As our first point of contact in the office, Cattie is considerate, compassionate and professional but most importantly, will do whatever it takes to make our customers (and each and every person she works with), feel special. The fact that through good or bad, she maintains a supremely positive and infectiously hilarious outlook on life only reinforces our decision to make her the first Rave award recipient of 2012. You go girl!
Q1 Rave Recipient - 2011
“Think of some place special… and go there!” Not only are these words of wisdom, but they are inspirational, supportive, positive and put a smile on your face. Not by coincidence, they are also the same words that best describe this quarters’ nominee for the Rave Award. Meredith, our Packaging Department Pipi Longstocking brings all of us our daily dose of smiles and laughs. Despite a tough juggle between managing her family, building a house, and with what little time she has left, painting, Meredith continually challenges us to look at things differently and more often than not, from the bright side of life. Thank you Meredith for caring and sharing!

Is there anyone among us, who has not admiringly enjoyed the artful handiwork of this month’s RAVE Award recipient? One of the Kicking Horse Café “Originals”, Taylor continues to raise the bar in the café, not only with her Latte art, but more importantly with her dedication, customer service and that winning, million dollar smile. Competition in the Café is tough; however, as our first winner outside of the Packaging department (although she has been known to moonlight there as well…), the following feedback provided by her co-workers solidify Taylor’s spot as a shoe-in winner for Q2, 2011. “Taylor is always smiling, polite and in a positive mood. Being cute, coupled with a great sense of humour and her stunning coffee art abilities, just make people look forward to coming into the Café”.

Two words come repeatedly from supervisors and co-worker alike when they are asked to describe our 2011 Q3 RAVE AWARD recipient. Nice-Guy! Steve bucked the odds by trading in his sketching pencils for a hairnet and Agtron machine, and continues to rise within the ranks of his fellow roasters not only through commitment, dedication and care, but with his generous spirit and compassionate attitude. Thanks for your contribution Steve and don’t stop smiling.
Q4 Rave Recipient - 2011
What a great choice to wrap up Q4 2011! Kicking Horse Coffee’s official “yes man” Andrew is the guy to talk to if you need to get things done. When not bombing around on the Bobcat in the wee hours making our parking lots snow-free, or taking our commercial biz to a whole new service level, his time is spent helping out the café or any other department deal with the latest maintenance “crisis”. All this done with a smile, a spring in his step, and the occasional after hour guitar lesson. Andrew, thanks for all your “yes’s”!
